I’m sure you’ve all felt overwhelmed at some point; probably more often than any of us would like to admit. When we become overwhelmed, we are completely taken over by mind and/or feelings. Although this generally has a negative connotation like being overwhelmed and stressed with work, finances, or time; being overwhelmed is often an incredible thing as well. Over the past week I have been drowning in overwhelming feelings of love, purpose, gratitude, and support. Wow, I’ve never been so happy to be overwhelmed!
As many of you know, I recently put together a completely free 8-week mind and body E-course for any and all women that wanted to join. I took writing the course curriculum very seriously and poured my heart into each of the weekly themes. Weekly challenges were written with coordinating prizes for participants. I worked tirelessly on writing programs and creating flyers, logos, cover graphics, you name it.
My goal number that I had written down and was visualizing over and over was 35 women. Secretly, I really wanted to aim for 50, but I just thought that it was impossible. There were actually a handful of times over the last month that I debated canceling the course (before I even publicly offered it) because I didn’t want to embarrass myself with the lack of involvement, I didn’t want to “let down” the handful of women who would hopefully sign up, and ultimately, I didn’t want to fail. Now, with all my personal development practices over the last few years I know very well that the magic doesn’t happen IN your comfort zone, but oh my goodness it’s so warm and cozy there!
With a little push from my incredible fiance I decided to just follow through with my plan and give it my best shot. If anything, it would be a great learning experience. So, I made a video (wanted to barf the whole time) introducing myself and the program, built up the courage to post it, and then took a deep breath and sat back….just waiting for some responses. They slowly started coming in. A few “likes”, a few comments, and then even a video “share.” The handful of kind comments and “thank you’s” starting giving me that good type of overwhelming feeling. I started to think, maybe I could do this. The more response I got, the bigger my heart grew, the more I wanted to share, the more confidence I gained.
Now, here we are, just 12 days after posting my video and my little group has grown to 498 members!!! Let me say that again, 498 members! This is not about ME, this is not bragging, this is just living proof that when we step out of our comfort zone, when we believe in ourselves, when we are confident, when we visualize what we want, we can literally make it happen!
These 499 (I included myself) powerhouse women now have an incredible space that they can be loving and supportive of each other without judgement or fear. They are working together towards transforming their minds and bodies, working on becoming the best version of themselves so they can be the best for everyone around them.
#itsMYturn has become a movement. I was so inspired and overwhelmed by the gratitude these women were pouring out, they inspired me to add just one more piece hours before kicking off. What better way to celebrate our amazing movement then to wear it proud across our chest. Motivational tank tops were the perfect way to say “I’m taking control of my life and I’m proud of these new sexy arms I’ve built” hehehe
The challenge officially started today and yet, I can barely keep up with the page. These women have already formed bonds, they are already building a tribe. They are unstoppable and SO ARE YOU!
“Life is a journey. Communication creates partnerships. We are here to assist. We can’t make your life for you and we cant’ help you with the things that we don’t know. You always have to remember to take care of YOU…First and foremost” – Jada Pinkett Smith
I can honestly say that if I didn’t eat for the last three days it wouldn’t have even mattered. I have been running on simply overwhelming feelings of love and gratitude.
